Stolen Car Crashes During Pursuit, Injuring 2 Suspects

The car had been reported stolen to West Covina police, but Cal Poly Pomona police spotted it and tried to make a traffic stop.

A stolen car pursued by Cal Poly Pomona police crashed into a pole in West Covina, injuring two suspects inside, authorities said Monday.

The crash in the 1900 block of East Amar Road was reported about 10 p.m. , said West Covina police Lt. Travis Tibbetts. The car had been reported stolen to West Covina police, but Cal Poly Pomona police spotted it and tried to make a traffic stop, leading to the pursuit, Tibbetts said.

Two suspects inside the car were taken to County-USC Medical Center, he said. The crash was under investigation.
