Women expecting babies can learn more about the changes their body is experiencing and how it prepares for labor during a free one-night class Tuesday, April 10, 7-9 p.m. at a new children’s clothing and toy store in downtown Dixon.
“After the initial thrill of discovering pregnancy, many women begin to experience stronger signs of their body changing but don’t really understand the magnificence of gestation,” said Certified Childbirth Educator Debra Dingman. “So many discomforts can be made minimal with proper nutrition and natural alternatives. But many times, just understanding—and having your partner understand—creates a calming effect.”
Topics covered will include nutrition in pregnancy, weight gain, your pregnant anatomy, communications with your partner, and an introduction to relaxation. A video on fetal development will also be shown. The class will also include a brief talk on the benefits of childbirth preparation.
