• Council Rejects Residential Parking Zone Ordinance (independentvoice.com) — Dixon’s City Council just approved eight new license plate recognition cameras and moved to subsidize the Readi-Ride transit program so seniors can keep riding affordably. Councilmembers also advanced a major lien on the local Motel 6 for unpaid occupancy taxes and debated, then rejected, a residential permit parking zone near John Knight Middle School, while hearing that new state water rules will likely raise rates.
   

• Waymo to begin tests in several Solano County cities (thereporter.com) — Dixon is one of seven Solano County cities where Waymo has state approval to begin testing fully driverless cars, bringing the company’s ‘robotaxis’ a step closer to local streets. The rollout still needs a utilities commission permit, and residents across the county are split between excitement over better transportation options and concern about safety and job impacts.
   

• Girls basketball rankings: Cardinal Newman stays No. 1; Windsor continues perfect start (fresnobee.com) — North Bay girls basketball rankings highlight Cardinal Newman still on top and Windsor’s undefeated start, but local eyes may go to Sonoma Valley’s upcoming game in the Dixon Tournament this Saturday. Several Sonoma and Napa County teams are entering holiday tournaments that could shake up the standings after a brief rankings pause next week.
