Update: Big-Rig, Amtrak Train Collide Near Vacaville
The driver of the big-rig sustained minor injuries during the collision

Update: 12:06 p.m.: Tracks have partially reopened following a collision between an Amtrak train and a big-rig near Fairfield this morning.
The accident was reported around 8:30 a.m. near Vanden and CannonΒ roads, California Highway Patrol Sgt. Trent Cross said.

The big-rig driver suffered minor injuries, Cross said. Amtrak spokeswoman Vernae Graham said it appears the truck pulled in front of the train at the Cannon Road crossing. She said there are gatesΒ and lights at that crossing.
The collision knocked the big-rig's trailer on its side, but the driver was able to get out of the truck and tried to clear debris from the roadway, according to the CHP.

The train involved in the accident was a Coast Starlight train that had come from Seattle and was heading to Los Angeles. As of 10:30 a.m., the train was still at the scene.
The accident closed the tracks and delayed Capitol Corridor service in both directions between Auburn and San Jose, Graham said. SheΒ advised riders to expect delays throughout the day.

The collision knocked the big-rig trailer on its side, but the driver was able to get out of the truck, according to the CHP.
The road was clear by 9 a.m.
