β€’ The Making of a Lawyer (independentvoice.com) β€” A former Dixon City Council member, now attorney Devon Nishimura, traces his legal career back to guidance from longtime Dixon lawyer Doris McCready after a political dispute with the city. He explains how juggling work at Dixon Tractor Supply, council duties, and law school led him to a defense practice, and why his difficult City of Dixon experience ultimately shaped his path.

β€’ Solano Emergency Communications Center to launch new phone tree (thereporter.com) β€” Starting Jan. 5, Dixon residents using the county’s non-emergency line will reach a new automated phone tree that can route them directly to the Dixon Police Department or other services.
