CSU System To Freeze Enrollment. Is the UC Next?
What does this mean for Dixon's current crop of high school students?

California’s budget situation is bleak, and it’s having a massive effect on higher education in the state. That's widely understood at this point.
But the crisis was taken to a new level yesterday when the California State University system announced that it plans to freeze enrollment next spring if a proposed tax not passed.
You can’t help but wonder: Will similar measures be taken in the UC system? And what does it mean for our current crop of high school students? Please weigh in below.

The local Occupy movement and many others have against proposed tuition hikes that are intended to alleviate the funding gap. Some have called for voters to support the tax increase backed by Gov. Jerry Brown, while many others have called for much more drastic structural reforms.
Students at UC Riverside pitched , which UC President Mark Yudof says he’s looking into it. Also, last month, thousands descended upon the Capitol building to voice concern about the education situation as it relates to the state budget.

As for the CSU, the LA Times had this to say:
In fall 2012, none of the campuses will make early admissions decisions, and all applicants — including prospective freshmen — will be warned that admittance is contingent on the outcome of the tax measure. Enrollment at individual campuses for fall 2013 will depend on funding and will probably be more restrictive.
