Dixon United Methodist to Host Annual Women's Tea Saturday
The Honeybee Trio to perform Saturday.
Special to Dixon Patch
The annual Women’s Tea at the Tea has always been a popular event in Dixon but with the 'Honeybee Trio' planning to perform, the tickets are nearly sold out for this Saturday’s event, said chair Suzanne Galloway.
‘Tea Time at the USO’ is the theme and will feature Vacaville’s teen singers whose performances have spread out of Solano County and into Northern California in the past two years.

Guests are encouraged to think 1940s and expect a World War II kind of theme, said Suzanne Galloway, long-time chairwoman of the event.
“The group has had rave reviews from anyone and everyone who has seen them at other venues,” she said of the young women who expertly harmonize their songs similar to the Andrews Sisters of the 1940s. “They will sing songs from the war years and we’re encouraging vintage attire and hats,” Galloway said.

Listening to the special entertainment is only half the fun, though, she said. Various members of the church take great pride in setting a table of six with their fine china, crystal, and sterling silver for the event.
A ticket is $25 and includes a door prize ticket. There is a huge amount of door prizes given away each year so most of the guests walk away with a surprise gift. The fundraiser is used to help with the special needs of the church and the community.
The group is not planning to sell tickets at the door so call quick. Tickets are available from the DUMC office, 209 North Jefferson, across from the Dixon Chamber of Commerce where there is ample free parking. Seating starts at 11:30 am. For more information, call Galloway at (707) 678-9397 or the church office at (707) 678-2191 or email dixonumc@att.net.
