Dixon Woman Arrested on Suspicion of Domestic Violence, Assault with a Deadly Weapon

Police say the woman threatened her spouse with a loaded shotgun.

An argument between a Dixon husband and wife ended with the arrest of the wife.

The arrested Brandi N. Downey, 29, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and domestic battery Wednesday at 7:55 p.m., following an argument she had with her husband Dixon Police Sgt. Loren Ellefson said.

Police went Downey’s home on the 400 block of La Esperanza Drive in response to a report of a domestic dispute, he said. The officers discovered that during the argument, Downey threatened her husband with a loaded shotgun.

The husband managed to take the firearm away from Downey and police were called to the home. The officers took Downey into custody on the aforementioned charges.

Downey was taken to the Solano County Jail and booked on felony assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor domestic battery charges. No injuries were reported.
