Fire Damages 4 Classrooms At Vacaville Pre-School

VACAVILLE, CA — A fire burned four classrooms at the private Bethany Lutheran Pre-School in Vacaville early this morning, a Vacaville Fire Department battalion chief said. The fire at 621 S. Orchard Ave. was reported around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday and was controlled about 15 minutes later, Battalion Chief Jeramy Langwell said.

The fire started outside the school building in a yard or outbuilding and spread to a wing of the school. In addition to the four classrooms burned, there was smoke damage to other classrooms. School officials moved the pre-school students to ad hoc classrooms in another wing, Langwell said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, Langwell said.

The school is part of Bethany Lutheran Ministries.
