Forecast Calls for 91-Degree Temperatures for Dixon High's Class of 2012 Graduation Ceremony

Anyone who was around last year for knew that it was rainy, muggy, muddy and miserable.

The graduation was cancelled due to unsafe conditions on the field. The cancellation infuriated many members of the Class of 2011, their family members and friends, as they were told that the graduation would be held

This year, the National Weather Service is predicting sunny skies and hot weather for Saturday's graduation to be held at Finney Field. In fact, the NWS is predicting 91 degree weather for Saturday.

This year, Dixon High School took steps to establish a Plan B in the event that weather makes the field unsafe. Should the National Weather Service's prediction be inaccurate, the ceremony will be postponed until Monday, June 4, 6 p.m., at Finney Field or inside the school's gymnasium with limited seating.

But for now, the graduation is scheduled for Saturday, June 2, 9 a.m., at Finney Field.
