"People are always surprised that the Bryan-Braker Railroad is sponsored by a funeral home," said Chris Donhost, manager for the company, who is also “chief engineer” of the railroad. “What they don't often don’t realize is that we truly celebrate and honor life in all that we do—and that community means everything to us. What could be a better place to celebrate our Dixon community than at our annual Grillin’ and Chillin’ event?"

Bryan-Braker Railroad is partnering with the to raise much-needed funds for the center though the sales of tickets for the train rides.  Last year, the little train raised about $1,000.  Organizers hope to raise even more money this year.

Along with the train, there will be many other activities at Grillin’ and Chillin’ as well as fabulous food and great fellowship.  However, for Donhost, there is no doubt about his favorite elements of the celebration.

"We wait for this all year," he said. "It doesn't just give kids and their parents a lot of happiness. It lifts our hearts up as well. It just doesn’t get any better than that.”
