Dear Editor:
On October 4, 2011, the Chicago Tribune featured a news article titled, 'Diaper Sales Down, Diaper Rash Up, in Tough Economy'.
It quoted diaper companies noticing a decrease in diaper sales. But, companies that sell diaper rash ointment, have seen an 8 percent increase in sales. It seems as though this may be a simple case of cause and effect. Pediatricians have noticed more babies are getting diaper rashes. Parents may not be changing diapers as often as needed, because diapers are costly. This might be a reason for the decline in diaper sales. It might also explain the increase in diaper rash ointment sales.

In the past two years the "Diaper Round Up" has collected and donated over 5,000 diapers to Child Net. It is a local non-profit agency that helps distribute these diapers to families and clinics throughout Solano County.
The Community Service Project at County Presentation Day (February 25) will be to Donate Diapers!!! Bring packages of diapers (We also accept open packages known as "singles") and participate in a Diaper Changing Relay at Presentation Day.
Help Make A Change In Our Community!
