Local Boy Nick Watney Wins Big Golf Tournament
Nick Watney beat out Sergio Garcia in the Barclays.
Nick Watney just gave himself a legitimate shot at $10 million.
After a golf season that had been a bit of a letdown, Watney won the first leg of the PGA Tour Playoffs – the Barclays at Bethpage Black in New York.
"It's been not quite the year I wanted," Watney told ESPN. "But this really makes it all forgotten. Winning a tournament is hard, but winning out here and against this field was very, very difficult. I'm kind of still on a high right now."

Watney, who lived in Dixon and went to Davis High School, has now won five PGA tournaments. He’s one of golf’s rising stars, who many believe could help fill the void now that Tiger Woods doesn’t appear to be the player he was for the past decade.
Woods finished the day tied for 38th place, and left without speaking to the media.
