Nature Walk Planned for Saturday at Lake Solano

Enjoy the beauty that is Lake Solano this Saturday

Join a free, guided nature walk at Lake Solano Park on Saturday, July 9th from 10 a.m., to noon. Guided tours of Lake Solano Park are offered throughout the summer and fall from 10 a.m., to noon on the second Saturdays and fourth Sundays of each month. These tours are a great opportunity to have fun, learn, and get healthy exercise.

Lake Solano volunteer Barbara Cooper will lead the walk on July 9th. She’ll share insights about native plants, their inter-relationships with other living species, and their dependence on the water from Putah Creek. Barbara is an experienced teacher and she’s very creative. She loves to interact and share information with children and adults in a fun and educational way.

Barbara’s walk will be along the shoreline, so the trail will be relatively flat.Β  Participants should wear comfortable, sturdy shoes and bring protection from the sun. Sunglasses, hats, and water are recommended to stay comfortable throughout the walk. Binoculars and cameras are also welcome.
