Police: Dixon and Vallejo Sunday Bank Robberies May Be Connected

The man who is responsible for robbing Wells Fargo inside Dixon's Sunday afternoon may have robbed a Vallejo bank earlier in the day.

The said that man -- described as a black, slender male adult, late 20's to early 30's, 5 feet 8 inches tall, who wore a dreadlock wig, white dress shirt and a silver dress coat -- walked into the Wells Fargo inside Safeway on 1235 Stratford Avenue and demanded money.

The suspected bank robber told the teller that he was armed with a gun, although no weapon was seen, and made his way out of the store's east door with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. Within minutes the Dixon Police Department responded to the bank at 2:30 p.m., and formed a perimeter around the building.

The suspect however, had left the area before the officers' arrival. Police said the Dixon bank robber matched the description of a bank robber who hit a Vallejo bank about an hour-and-a-half earlier.

At 1 p.m., a bank robber walked into the Raley's on Sonoma Boulevard and demanded money from the Wells Fargo bank inside the store. The man left the area with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police have not released a photo of the alleged bank robber, and said that the Vallejo and Dixon bank robberies may be connected.

The investigation into the bank robbery is ongoing.
