Resource Fair To Provide Information, Services To Dixon's Seniors

The 10^th annual Dixon Senior Resource Fair, sponsored by the Advocates for Dixon Seniors, is sure to be a success with many providers already on board.

The free event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 16 from 10 a.m., to 1 p.m., at the , 201 South 5^th Street, Dixon, CA 95620

A variety of organizations, businesses and agencies will provide information, health checks, and freebies to attendees.  Each year those who take advantage of the free event are treated to free hearing checks, blood pressure & diabetes checks, eye exams and much more.

Currently scheduled providers of services and information pertinent to seniors are:

• Bryan Braker Funeral Home
• California Telephone Access
• Dixon Senior Club
• Food Bank of Solano
• HealthNet
• Jackson Medical
• Merrill Gardens
• Partnership Health Plan
• Prevention and Early Access for Seniors
• VITAS Hospice
• Yolo Hospice

Complimentary food, drink and numerous free raffles are also standard at the Fair. The Advocates encourage everyone to think about a senior relative, friend, or neighbor that could benefit from the day of information, fun, food, and entertainment and invite them to join you at the Senior Multi-Use Center on Saturday, Oct. 16.

Planners of the event say there is still room for more vendors to be included in the event and those interested should call Cookie Powell at 678-0442 or Lorraine Tanguay at 678-8671 ASAP to secure a space.  The deadline for signing on is Sept. 9.
