Sex in Pickup Truck Leads to Arrest

The arrested a Woodland teenager on suspicion of unlawful sex with a minor early this morning.

An alert Dixon Police officer who was on patrol spotted a pickup truck parked in a parking lot on the 300 block of North Lincoln Street at 1:35 a.m., Wednesday.

“He (the officer) observed a vehicle there, walked up to the vehicle and observed an adult engaging with a minor,” Dixon Police Sgt. Loren Ellefson said. “A subsequent investigation revealed she was under 18.”

The teen -- Ricardo Manzano,19, of Woodland -- was fornicating with the girl, whose age was not immediately available, inside the pickup truck, Ellefson said.

Police arrested Manzano on the aforementioned charge and took him to the Solano County Jail. Unlawful sex with a minor is considered a misdemeanor if the victim is between 15 and 17 years old, Ellefson explained. If the victim is 14 and under, the crime becomes a felony, he said.
