Thousands of Dixon residents descended upon the Dixon May Fair this weekend to take in the state's oldest fair.

, boasted the expected attractions of livestock and fried food, but also drew attendees with a demolition derby, hog-calling contest and a concert from Dixon native Jon Pardi.

Pardi told the crowd his first full-length album would be coming out this summer, and reminisced about the May Fair.

"I think the last time I played here was in 2007 – in the Beer Garden," Pardi told the crowd.
