Should Dixon Employ Its Own City Attorney?

For the last eight years, Dixon's legal counsel has been provided by a Sacramento lawyer working for the city. But that could change.

This week, the Dixon City Council will discuss whether or not to solicit proposals for an in-house city attorney. In theory, doing so could save the city money, but no specific amount is mentioned in a staff report for this week's meeting.

Any new in-house attorney would work for a monthly fee plus additional hourly services as needed.

Michael Dean is Dixon's current city attorney.
