Suspected Copper Wire Thief Captured in Rio Vista
The Solano County Sheriff's Department arrested a Walnut Grove man on suspicion of grand theft, vandalism and trespassing

A Walnut Grove man is facing serious charges of grand theft, vandalism and trespassing.
The Solano County Sheriff's Department arrested Jose Lopez, 29, of Walnut Grove on suspicion of the aforementioned charges after conducting a surveillance operation this morning in the areas of Ryer Island and Rio Vista.
Deputies contacted Lopez at 3 a.m., on the 3900 block of Liberty Island Road and discovered that the tire patterns of the bike that Lopez rode matched tire impressions left at the scene of the copper-wire thefts, the Solano Sheriff's Department said.

Lopez was also in possession of a night vision device, according to the Sheriff's Department. The deputies placed Lopez under arrest on suspicion of grand theft, vandalism and trespassing and took him to the Solano County Jail.
