UPDATE: Driver Removed Propane Tanks and Gasoline Cans Before Camper Burned to the Frame
UPDATE: Dixon fire douses fully involved camper trailer after the onboard generator caught fire while driving on I-80.

A camping trip was cut short for two men today, as their toy hauler trailer erupted into flames along I-80 in Dixon at Pedrick Road around 2:30PM this afternoon.
The stunned driver of the truck watched from the nearby gas station as Dixon Fire extinguished the flames. He told Patch they were headed to the mountains to camp with friends, when he noticed there were flames coming from the trailer.
He explained that he immediately pulled over, and quickly unloaded the gasoline cans and full propane tanks that were being transported inside.
"We just tried to get as much of the flammable material out as fast as we could, without ending up burning the truck too," said the driver, "The on-board generator caught fire while we were driving."
The driver and passenger were able to unhook the truck from the trailer, leaving it a safe distance from the gas station in the middle of the I-80 on-ramp intersection of Pedrick Road and Sievers Road.
Dixon Fire responded to extinguish the flames, however the trailer was a complete loss.
