Victim Struck On I-505 By Wrong-Way Driver Dies At Hospital

It was the second death in a collision on Interstate Highway 505 north of Vacaville. The wrong-way driver suspected of DUI also died.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — A second person who was a victim of a wrong-way driving collision on Interstate Highway 505 late Sunday night has died, the Solano County coroner's office said Thursday.

Kathy Robertson, 61, of Vacaville, was driving north on I-505 south of Allendale Road when her 2008 Honda Civic was struck by a 2009 Toyota Camry that was driving south in the northbound lanes of the highway around 11 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Robertson died Monday at Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center, according to the coroner's office.

The male driving the Toyota was killed and his name has not been released, the coroner's office said.

A 56-year-old Vacaville man who was a passenger in Robertson's Honda suffered major injuries and was taken to the hospital, the CHP said.
