DUBLIN, CA — Dublin Assistant City Manager Colleen Tribby will serve as the next city manager, the city announced. The Dublin City Council voted to appoint Tribby to replace Linda Smith, who will retire in October.

Tribby got her masters in business from the European School of Economics in Italy, and completed the Strategic Management of Public Organizations course at the U.C. Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy. Before joining the City of Dublin in 2013, she worked for Maximus as a government consultant, and advised the City of Los Angeles and Los Angeles Police Department, among others. She was then budget and finance manager for the City of South San Francisco for almost eight years.

Tribby began working for the City of Dublin in April 2013 as Director of Administrative Services, where she was responsible for finance and information technology. She created a Fiscal Sustainability Task Force to educate the community about the city’s finances, oversaw the formation of Dublin’s first Community Facilities District for the Boulevard project, and created a master plan to guide citywide technological improvements.

Tribby helped Dublin maintain its services during the coronavirus pandemic, and has overseen the planning and funding of high-profile projects like the citywide energy efficiency improvements, the upcoming Dublin Arts Center, the future Dublin Boulevard extension, and the future Village Parkway reconstruction.

“The Dublin City Council is excited to have Colleen Tribby serve as the next Dublin City Manager," Dublin Mayor Michael McCorriston said in a statement. “We have the utmost confidence in her ability to lead her team and carry Dublin into the future. Her passion for the Dublin community is inspiring.”
