Dublin Spelling Bee Champion Offers Spelling Bee Coaching

DHS student Kopal Tare, winner of the Alameda County Spelling Bee, is offering coaching to elementary and middle school students.

DUBLIN, CA — The Tri-Valley is a powerhouse for spelling bee talent. Students from the region have competed in National Spelling Bee Semifinals, and even come close to winning the prestigious Scripps National Spelling Bee. Now, one spelling bee champ is offering lessons for local students on how to spell "victory."

Dublin High School junior Kopal Tare, who has won first place in the Junior High competition at the Alameda County Spelling Bee and qualified for the state spelling bee, is the founder of Bee Stars, an initiative to provide free spelling and literacy coaching to students in Dublin. Over the past two years, tare has helped over 100 students in kindergarten to 7th grade gain the skills and confidence necessary to win spelling bees, and improve their overall literacy.

"At Bee Stars, my focus lies on equipping students with essential spelling strategies and techniques to prepare them for spelling bees. My customized approach caters to each student's learning style and level of expertise," Tare said.
