Dublin Veterans Honored At Sunday Parade

Listen to live music and grab a scoop of ice cream at the annual Tri-Valley Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony this weekend.

PLEASANTON, CA — Dublin veterans and residents are invited to the annual Tri-Valley Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony Sunday afternoon in Pleasanton.

The event begins at 1 p.m. in front of Veterans Memorial Hall at 301 Main St. in Pleasanton. The parade — which will feature more than 50 entries including the Foothill High School marching band, equestrian teams and a 47-foot speed boat — will proceed north four blocks to St. Mary Street.

The ceremony begins in front of Veterans Memorial Hall at 2 p.m. and will feature ice cream for all and live, patriotic music from the Pleasanton Community Concert Band.

This year's parade is dedicated to nonprofit Pleasanton Military Families Support Group, which has served Pleasanton veterans for more than 20 years. Nonprofit founder Chris Miller, President Kim Beatty and former President Patric Frizzell will serve as the parade's grand marshals and ride in a 1932 Ford convertible.

The parade is organized by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6298, American Legion Post 237, and the Major General William F. Dean Chapter of the Association of the United States Army.
