Dublin Deck The Homes 2025 Winners Announced (patch.com) — Holiday spirit is shining across Dublin as the city announces the 2025 Deck the Homes contest winners, complete with a map so residents can tour the standout displays. From the People’s Choice on Peppertree Road to the GOAT Award on Sutton Lane, neighbors are encouraged to see the lights in person and enjoy the community’s creativity.
   

2. Underage drinking crackdown: Five Bay Area cities, Lodi get state grants for enforcement (localnewsmatters.org) — Dublin is one of five Bay Area cities awarded up to $30,000 in state grant funding to crack down on underage drinking. The money will support local education and enforcement tactics like minor decoy and “shoulder tap” operations, with the program running through September 2026.
   

3. Earthquake of magnitude 2.1 detected near Dublin, CA on Dec. 19 (sacbee.com) — A small 2.1-magnitude earthquake shook an area about three miles north of Dublin on Friday night, but was too minor to cause damage. Officials are encouraging residents who felt it to file a USGS “Did You Feel It?” report and to review basic earthquake safety steps like drop, cover, and hold on.
   

4. Dublin City Council Opposes ICE Detention Facility at Former Prison (davisvanguard.org) — Dublin’s City Council has unanimously passed a resolution opposing any plan to reuse the former FCI Dublin prison as an ICE detention or other correctional facility, citing safety, infrastructure problems, and harm to the city’s large immigrant community. Officials stress that while they lack direct control over the federal site, they want transparent communication and argue detention use conflicts with Dublin’s growth, quality of life, and community values.
