Police say the marijuana edibles look like snack foods.

Police seized a large quantity of edibles that looked like snack foods.

"This marketing is specific to children and poses a significant safety risk," police said.

Officers see this type of product from time to time but unless an officer really knows what to look for, they might not even know the products were actually marijuana edibles, Captain Nate Schmidt told Patch.

"This is concerning as kids may ingest the product causing major illness not knowing what they were eating," Schmidt said.

Schmidt said he also thinks marketing towards children gives the impression eating marijuana edibles is acceptable and something everyone is doing.

"It's very dangerous and our staff did an outstanding job getting these items out of our community," he said.

It is unknown if any arrests were made.
