First Diwali Festival Taking Place In Dublin
Emerald Glen Park will host an all-day party with food, music, dancing and more to celebrate the Festival of Lights.
DUBLIN, CA — Tens of thousands of people packed into the Alameda County Fairgrounds Saturday to celebrate Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights. Attendees enjoyed food, dance, music, and fireworks to celebrate the holiday, which celebrates the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.
Yet the Tri-Valley isn't done celebrating yet. On Saturday, the city of Dublin is partnering with a number of local Hindu organizations to organize the first Diwali Mela, or festival, at Emerald Glen Park.
From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., guests can enjoy cultural performances, food, colorful decorations, and traditional music.
