LIVERMORE, CA — A woman is accused of crashing her car on I-580 and then walking away, leaving behind an injured one-year-old, according to the California Highway Patrol.

On Sunday at around 3 a.m., a woman driving a Toyota Corolla crashed into the westbound I-580 to Grant Line Road off-ramp, CHP spokesperson Tyler Hahn told Patch. Her one-year-old daughter was reportedly inside the car at the time, and suffered major injuries.

The woman, referred to in the report as "Morales," allegedly failed to contact authorities and left her daughter behind, and began walking along the freeway. CHP units responded and began to question her. According to Hahn, Morales did not immediately mention the crash, and did not remember where it occurred.
