Woman Sexually Assaulted As She Slept In Her Home: Dublin PD

Police believe that the suspect entered the home through a rear door that was unlocked.

DUBLIN, CA — A man accused of assaulting a woman in Dublin as she slept in her home was arrested on Friday.

Police said that just before midnight on Thursday, a woman in the 7900 block of Tamarack Drive called 911 to report that she was woken up by a man she did not know who was touching her inappropriately.

The woman screamed and the man ran out of the home. Police said they searched the area but could not find him.

Police suspect the man entered the home through an unlocked rear door.

The suspect was identified as Jatonio Simmons, 24, who police said is a transient.

He was taken into custody at Mape Memorial Park in Dublin. Simmons was booked into the Santa Rita jail on charges of sexual assault and residential burglary.
