Comments of the Week: 'If You Want to Live in a Gated Community, Go Live Next to Beiber'

We take pride in our work here at Patch and always strive to bring our readers interesting news. However, we must admit, sometimes the most interesting part of a great Patch story is the comments from readers that it sparks. 

Here are some of the best, funniest, strangest and most informative comments from Eagle Rock Patch stories this past week.

One of our most talked about stories was an update on the ongoing issue of developer wanting to build a gated community in Eagle Rock, which has been met with very serious and significant opposition in the community. Reader WU TANG FAN gets our Comment of the Week:

Why doesn't the developer go " develop" somewhere else?? We don't need gated communities here! If you want to live in a gated community, go live next to Beiber or the "Kartrashians"!

We reported last week how the Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council voted to send a letter to State Senator Kevin de León telling him it was not happy with his opposition to a statewide ban on single-use plastic bags. Our readers had plenty to say on this hot-button issue:

These bags are disgusting, everywhere and harm our ecosystem. I don't get how anyone is dumb enough to keep using them.

He's typical. Worried about the short term and not concerned about the long term. We need short term limits to prevent this type of selfish self-preservation.
