LAPD Responds to Call About Fight Between Two Homeless People

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department Northeast Community Station responded to a 911 call about a fight between two homeless people at the Eagle Rock Center on Colorado Boulevard Sunday evening.

Four officers in two squad cars got to the scene of the altercation—in front of Launderland Coin Laundry—at around 6:30 p.m. But except for two shopping carts packed with what appeared to be personal belongings, there was no sign of any homeless people.

When Patch arrived at the scene of the incident, an LAPD officer whose name plate identified him as Silva was speaking to a man (see photo) who said he had witnessed a homeless man brandishing a black-colored object—perhaps a pipe of some sort—in an apparent act of violence against another homeless person.

Silva said he would need to investigate further for details. The officer added that the reason two squad cars had responded to the 911 call was because of the massive law enforcement manhunt for ex-LAPD fugitive Christopher Jordan Dorner, who is believed to have murdered three people.
