Dumbarton Bridge Work Concludes 2 Days Early
A repaving project in the eastbound lanes of the Dumbarton Bridge wrapped with just three nights of overnight work, officials said Thursday.
EAST PALO ALTO, CA — Caltrans crews made quick work of overnight repaving work on the Dumbarton Bridge, saving two days of scheduled eastbound interruptions. The bridge spans the Bay from Menlo Park in San Mateo County and Fremont in Alameda County, carrying an estimated 70,000 vehicles each day.
Officials said the project was designed to make rides smoother for drivers traveling between the east end of the bridge and the toll plaza. The repaving project began Monday evening and was slated to run each night through Friday. On Thursday morning, Caltrans announced all work was completed well ahead of schedule, and no further overnight closures would be necessary.
No Dumbarton Bridge closure tonight, Nov. 2, or tomorrow, Nov. 3! Repaving work that necessitated closing eastbound Dumbarton Bridge overnight completed two days ahead of schedule, with a smoother ride for motorists. @Fremont_CA @AlamedaCounty @sanmateoco
