Man Sentenced For Molesting Children At Bay Area Daycare
The man lived at an unlicensed daycare run by wife, police said.
EAST PALO ALTO, CA — A 72-year-old man was sentenced to over two decades in prison on Tuesday in San Mateo County after he pled not contest to molesting several children that had attended his wife's unlicensed daycare at their home, officials said.
Norberto Renteria Bautista pled no contest to molesting three children between the ages of 5 and 11, San Mateo County prosecutors said.
San Mateo County Superior Court Judge Kevin Dunleavy sentenced Bautista on Tuesday to serve 24 years in state prison and to register as a sex offender for life.

On Feb. 1, 2022, a father arrived at the daycare to pickup his 7-year-old daughter when Bautista's wife told the father to never bring his daughter back, according to court documents.
Prosecutors said when the father asked why Bautista's wife told him that her husband had molested the child and the girl told her father about multiple other times Bautista had molested her.
