UPDATE: 4 Adults, 3 Juveniles Detained Near Logan Street Elementary
Officers responded to a call of possible trespassing on the campus Saturday evening.
UPDATE: 9:36 p.m. Sgt. Leticia Castaneda of Los Angeles School Police Department says four adults and three juveniles have been taken into custody.
One of the juveniles, a girl, may have school property in her possession, which could lead to a formal arrest and charges beyond trespassing.
Northeast Division helped in the search and it is expected that at least some of those detained will be taken to the station there.

Echo Park Patch's Nathan Gawronsky, a neighbor, filed this report about what happened at the school:
Neighbors poured out onto the street and stood outside in amazement, as at least seven police cars and a Los Angeles Police Department helicopter encircled the neighborhood in an apparent pursuit of suspects who fled from police on foot, according to senior officer John Guttierez, who was present at the scene.

At approximately 7 p.m., officers responded to an alarm at the Logan Street Elementary School. Upon arriving at the school, officers saw two juveniles escape on foot. While running from the police, the two juveniles attempted to hide in the yards of local homes.
Nancy Lizama, 15, a local resident who claims to know one of the juvenile suspects in custody, claims she saw the two boys running, when one of them jumped over her fence and tried to hide in a bush. He was arrested shortly after.
"I know them. They like to go to the school and play there," Nancy said. "They get into trouble all the time."
Guttierez said, "We're here to protect the school's assets -- to make sure the kids can come to school Monday and have stuff to work with. We want to make sure their computers and educational material isn't stolen."
It wasn't clear, however, the suspects had stolen anything. Upon being arrested and frisked, it was revealed that the second suspect was in possession of a flash drive and some condoms.
"I think it's really stupid," said Nancy about the response of the police who arrived at the scene. "I don't know why they do this; I don't see anything wrong with playing in a school."
Zoe Logan, a neighbor who was also present at the scene, saw one of the young men break into a neighbor's front gate and try to hide from the police in a yard.
"They're the neighborhood gangbangers. They're always tagging and whatnot in our neighborhood."

A witness said he saw two detainees being handcuffed and driven away in a police vehicle.
