New EP-Silver Lake Coffee Shop Wants Artists' Help
Artists can stop by Tuesday at 2 p.m. to pitch their ideas for the wall outside a new coffeehouse coming to 2501 Sunset Blvd.
Maybe you've noticed the wooden sign outside the minimall at 2501 Sunset Blvd.
It's a shout-out to local artists: as you can see in the attached pic, they're wanted.
Turns out the former 99 cent store space is being turned into a coffeehouse and bakery.

The owners are local--the same folks who run Panaderia Cuscatleca in Pico Union.
According to Carrie Diamond of ACHIX Construction Company, the contractor, the owners want artists to paint work on the wall just outside.

"It'll be a kind of rotating gallery," she said, with new artists invited in about every six months.
"This area's a kind of middle zone, " she added. "A wall like this can bring different kinds of people together."
On Tuesday, artists are invited to stop by at 2 p.m. with sketches or other ideas.
Diamond says those picked get free materials.
