Photos: LAPD Shoots Echo Park Man--Aftermath and Investigation

Like most of Echo Park, we've been carefully following the March 19 shooting that left Echo Park resident David Martinez in the hospital.

Many details about the incident remain unclear.

The LAPD did release a statement saying no weapon was found near Echo Park Avenue and Sunset Boulevard where the shooting happened.

The statement also says that officers were the ones who "initiated contact" with Martinez, in response to a call to the division.

A Patch reader uploaded the above images, during the minutes and hours just after the shooting.
