Burglary and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle – Fairmount Avenue and San Pablo Avenue
An officer conducted a records check of a license plate and learned that the gold colored Chrysler van was a reported stolen vehicle from Richmond. Officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop and arrested a 29-year-old man from Sacramento, a 23-year-old man from Oakland, and a 25-year-old man from Oakland. Suspected stolen property was found inside of the car and during the investigation officers determined that the suspects had just committed a residential burglary on the 100 block of Ashbury Avenue in El Cerrito. The property was returned to the homeowner and the suspects were interviewed at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Auto Burglary – 10100 block of San Pablo Avenue
Three vehicles were burglarized in the parking lot of a business. Hours later a citizen called to report that they found property in the recycle bin that they had not placed there. Officers determined that it was the stolen property from the auto burglaries.
Battery (Fighting in Public) – El Cerrito Plaza
Officers responded to a report of juveniles fighting in front of the Panda Express restaurant. Upon arrival, approximately 40 juveniles fled the area however one girl was contacted at the scene who had minor injuries. The female was transported to Kaiser Hospital in Richmond as a precaution. Two other girls were detained at the plaza BART station and transported to ECPD after it was determined that they were involved. Those subjects were later released to their parents from the police department with a juvenile citation.
Possession of Tobacco Products and Daytime Curfew violation – 700 block of Pomona Avenue
An officer contacted two boys during school hours and determined that they were both supposed to be in class at El Cerrito High School. Both boys were smoking and in possession of cigarettes. The boys were cited for violating the daytime curfew and for being in possession of tobacco products and turned over to the school resource officer.
Stolen Vehicle, Evading Police – San Pablo Ave. / Cutting Blvd.
Officers attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop on a stolen GMC Yukon. The driver of the vehicle fled from officers westbound on Interstate 80. Officers pursued the vehicle until the California Highway Patrol assumed the pursuit at the Macarthur maze.

Stolen Vehicle – 7900 block of Cutting Boulevard
The victim reports his 2007 Mercedes Benz was stolen after he visited El Cerrito and lost the keys to the car, which he parked in the 7900 block of Cutting Boulevard.
Commercial Burglary / Theft Warrant / Parolee at Large – Luckys Supermarket El Cerrito Plaza
Officers observed a suspicious man hiding items in a bush to the rear of Ross Clothing in the EC Plaza. Officers conducted surveillance and determined the man was stealing items from Lucky’s and then depositing them in the bushes to be picked up later. After the man made multiple visits to Lucky’s, officers detained him and discovered he had stolen $150.00 worth of meat products. The 55-year-old man from Oakland was found to have a $110,000 warrant stemming from a previous arrest by the El Cerrito Police Department for theft and he was also wanted by the Department of Corrections for a parole violation. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Open Alcohol Container in Public – El Cerrito Plaza
Officers observed a man drinking from a wine bottle in front of the AT&T store in the EC Plaza. Officers detained the man and issued him a citation.
Driving Under the Influence – Richmond St. / Moeser Ln.
Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop and subsequently arrested the driver, a 40-year-old El Cerrito woman for driving under the influence of alcohol. She was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released to a sober relative.
Driving Under the Influence – San Pablo Ave. / Waldo Ave.
Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop and subsequently arrested the driver, a 38 year-old Vallejo man, for driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released to a sober relative.
Driving Under the Influence – San Pablo Ave. / Moeser Ln.
Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop and subsequently arrested the driver, a 47-year-old San Leandro man for driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released to a sober relative.
Warrant Arrest – 1600 block of Arlington Blvd.
Officers conducted a suspicious vehicle check and subsequently arrested an 18-year-old San Ramon woman and a 19-year-old Albany woman for outstanding warrants stemming from the same case. Both were booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

Auto Burglary – 100 block of Carmel Avenue
The victim reports an unknown suspect broke the rear passenger window of a 2001 Honda Civic and ransacked the glove box stealing a small amount of change. The theft occurred sometime between 7pm and 9am.
Auto Burglary –1300 Liberty Street
The victim reports an unknown suspect broke the rear passenger window of a 2005 Toyota Camry and ransacked the interior without stealing any property. The crime occurred sometime overnight.
Attempted Theft from Auto – 1300 block of Richmond Street
The victim reports an unknown suspect entered an unlocked 2006 Toyota Camry but did not steal any property. The crime occurred sometime between 6pm and 9am.
Auto Burglary – 1300 block of Liberty Street
The victim reports an unknown suspect broke the rear window of a 2006 Nissan Altima but did not steal any property. The crime occurred sometime between 6:30pm and 10:30am.
Stolen Vehicle – 1400 block of S. 56th Street
The victim reports loaning their 2002 Buick Century to a friend who never returned it.
DUI Collision – Central Avenue and Yosemite Avenue
Officers responded to a report of non-injury vehicle collision and noticed signs of intoxication from one of the drivers. The 75-year-old man from Richmond was arrested for DUI and booked at the El Cerrito Police Department. The man was later released to a sober friend with a citation.
Commercial Burglary – 6000 Potrero Ave.
An unknown suspect smashed a front window of the business and stole bags of dog food.
