Below are recent crimes, excluding petty thefts and thefts from vehicles, that we found on crimereports.com – the official outlet for El Cerrito police crime information.

The list below includes an April 14 assault with a deadly weapon in the 700 block of Avila Place that resulted in great bodily injury. El Cerrito police records supervisor Loralee Palfini said she cannot release information about it because it was a case of domestic violence.

Stolen BMW X5
The Arlington Neighbors email list distributed an alert Tuesday afternoon saying a resident reported having a BMW X5 stolen from in front of the resident's home in the 7300 block of Cutting Boulevard, next to the , at 4 a.m. Monday. Video cameras showed two men, who had driven up in a truck, stealing the car, according to the resident.
Police told the resident that the thieves appeared to be professionals and that the truck, which was left at the scene, had been stolen that morning in Richmond, according to the resident. The car had an alarm system, which theives managed to bypass, the resident said. Patch has requested information from El Cerrito police about the crime, which had not yet been added to crimereports.com. (There is often a lag in time before crimes are listed on crimereports.com.)
Home burglaries
The crimereports.com list below also shows four break-ins. Two of them – in the 800 block of Kensington and the 7700 block of Eureka – were mentioned in our last police blotter published on April 17 as home burglaries where neighbors had reported the front doors had been kicked in. They had not yet appeared in crimereports.com at the time.
All four break-ins in the list below were home burlgaries, Palfini said. She said she could not disclose how entry was gained or provide a description of what was taken.
The times, descriptions and locations in the list are exactly as they appear on crimereports.com. These are crimes that were not listed when we did our last police blotter on April 17.
