Comment: It's Corporate Culture That Undermines Women's "Ambition"
Our reader Comment of Week comes from an article pegged to the El Cerrito appearance of the author of "Cinderella Ate My Daughter," about whether girls suffer from an ambition deficit.

The appearance of Peggy Orenstein, author of Cinderella Ate My Daughter, at Prospect Sierra School last Tuesday prompted us to publish an article about the seeming gender gap in ambition. That article, "," drew our Comment of the Week from reader Liz Ozselcuk:
"US corporate policy is not family friendly; you are expected to work late hours and weekends if you want to be seen as being upward bound in the company. Maybe this lack of "ambition" is more about women realizing that they will be expected to choose against the interest of their families and themselves in order to move up that ladder. The old saying about no man wishing on his deathbed that he had spent more time at work and less time with his family goes for women as well."
