County Planning Commish Approves 5 AT&T Antennas in Kensington

On Tuesday, the Contra Costa County Planning Commission approved five of the six cell phone antennas AT&T wants to erect in the Kensington area.

Commissioners postponed until Oct. 22 making a decision on an antenna proposed for the public right-of-way at 248 Grizzly Peak Blvd, according to Francisco Avila, a planner with the county.

The antennas have been opposed by some residents who argue that they are ugly and lower property values, among other complaints.
