The city's commercial life is growing apace with ith the opening of the Harbor Building at Stockton and San Pablo avenues and the opening sale announced by the owner of the El Cerrito Five and Ten Cent Store, Harold E. Pavey. The Harbor Building will have three tenants: a modern automobile parts store, Friedell Camera Shop and a barber. The Five and Ten, near the Fairmount Avenue post office, has added a significant number of new household items to its stock.

To Graduate 173 Seniors
The annual commencement exercises at El Cerrito High School – to be held Wednesday night at the school gym – will see 173 diplomas presented to graduating seniors this year. The Processional music will be the Hungarian Comedy Overture, Keler Bela, performed by the high school orchestra.

Attend May 25th Meet
At Martinez Library
New procedures to improve library service was on the morning agenda of the annual Branch Library Assistants and Custodians of Contra Costa Library meeting in Martinez on May 25. The luncheon, at a Concord restaurant, was enlivened by remarks from Mrs. Jeanne Van Nostrand, co-author with Miss Edith M. Coulter, of California Pictorial, a centennial publication by the University of California Press.
Dudley E. Miller
Passes Bar Exam
Dudley Eugene Miller of 6706 Moeser Lane in El Cerrito is among the 414 aspiring lawyers who passed the bar exam last April, according to an announcement today from the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California. Their admission to the bar will be moved by the committee at the state Supreme Court sessions in Los Angeles on June 7 and in San Francisco on June 14.
