El Cerrito High PTSA Needs Help
The PTSA at El Cerrito High (the parents, teachers and students association) is seeking volunteers to serve as officers and committee chairs to keep the organization functioning effectively.
The PTSA at El Cerrito High School issued the following appeal Thursday on the school email list:

The ECHS PTSA needs for you to get involved to help your school community. Find out how at the business portion of our April 16th PTSA meeting (this coming Monday) 7-9 at the school library, immediately following the 7:15-8:30 presentation about WASC.

We need some great volunteers to run for PTSA President, Vice President, Membership Chair, and Financial Secretary (The current Secretary and Treasurer wish to remain in their positions next year, but would still need to be re-elected). Parents of students who will be freshman next year as well as parents of students currently at ECHS are invited (and needed) to run for these important positions. If we can't fill them, we cannot be a PTSA in good standing. Elections need to take place in May so that we can plan next year's budget.
We also have need for volunteers to be appointed to other PTSA positions, including Emergency Preparedness Coordinator (to help us buy and manage earthquake supplies), Volunteer Coordinator, Publicity Coordinator, Parliamentarian, and Safety Committee Chair. It would be great to have someone to go to School Board meetings and then report back to the PTSA body what they learn. We'd also like a Student liaison and a Teacher liaison. If you're willing to help the PTSA and school staff write grants to fund WriterCoach Connection and other programs, we need your skills.

The PTSA Executive Board, Chairs, and Coordinators work as a mutually supportive team, and many of these jobs don't require more than an hour or two a month aside from the monthly meeting. We will have a binder with job descriptions at the April meeting, as well as contact information so you can learn firsthand about what is involved from the person currently holding the position. Please come to this meeting and take the time to look.
