Disappointment awaits anyone hoping to check out a book today, Saturday, from the . It's a "furlough" day, meaning the county doesn't have the budget to pay library employees to work on days the library would normally be open. The library was closed yesterday too, another furlough day. All the branch libraries in the <a href="http://ccclib.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Contra Costa County Library system</a> were shuttered yesterday and will be closed again today. El Cerrito's library, which is normally open on Fridays and Saturdays, is closed again tomorrow, but that's because it's normally closed on Sundays. But come noon Monday, the doors will reopen as usual.
