The city-sponsored "Street Play" event that was originally scheduled for March 25 but postponed because of the threat of rain will be held instead on April 29, according to the City of El Cerrito.

The City of El Cerrito will be hosting “Street Play”, an outdoor community gathering on Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. at the intersection of Key Boulevard and Conlon Avenue in El Cerrito (near Baxter Creek and 2 blocks north of the El Cerrito del Norte BART station). The goal of the event is to encourage people to get outside, be active and have fun. The roadway will be “closed to traffic and open for fun!”

Street Play will be held on:
- Key Blvd from the Conlon intersection to the City limits
- Conlon Ave between Key and Mono
- Humboldt from Key to about mid-block
On Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 10:00am to approximately 3:30pm, these portions of Key Blvd, Humboldt St. and Conlon Ave. will be closed to all vehicular traffic (except emergency vehicles), with traffic being diverted onto other streets. Street parking in the event area will also be temporarily prohibited.

Street Play will offer games, classes and activities for children, youth, adults and seniors.
Attendees are encouraged attendees to bring a picnic lunch and create their own fun (such as bicycle, skates, basketball, ping pong, etc). A schedule of activities is online at www.el-cerrito.org/streetplay.
This event was re-scheduled from March 25th due to weather.
