Japan Quake/Tsunami Benefit for Sister Church

The  at 1111 Navellier St. in El Cerrito is holding a benefit concert hosted by KTVU newsman John Sasaki on March 25.

Titled "Early Spring: A Testament To The Blossoming of Tohoku," the 2-4 p.m. event is a benefit for the tsunami recovery efforts of Sycamore's sister church in Sendai, Japan. It includes a piano and voice performance by Chie Treagus and Okinawan samisen music by Wesley Ueunten. There will also be a narrated video of John Sasaki's October 2011 visit to Ogachimachi, a coastal fishing village in Miyagi prefecture.

The event also includes refreshments and a raffle. See also the attached poster.
