To the Editor:

As a private citizen, I have worked with the City of El Cerrito for over 20 years and although not a perfect bureaucracy, I have found them efficient and responsive, especially when compared to other local cities.  They have also husbanded tax and other revenue carefully, all the while providing important services which have made El Cerrito a city in which people love to live.

The ½ cent sales tax is miniscule compared to the benefits it will provide.  If someone spends $1,000 it will only increase their spending by $5, truly a small price to pay for continued health, safety and recreational services.

Please don't be scared off by the No on R campaign charges and Vote Yes on R.
