Poll Workers Needed In El Cerrito June 5

You can receive up to $100 for helping democracy one day. The Contra Costa County Elections Division is seeking poll workers for El Cerrito, Pinole, Richmond and San Pablo for June 5th primary election.

Voters will go to the polls across California on June 5, and that means local elections officials need extra workers to staff the polls.

The Contra Costa County Elections Division issued this call for poll workers for El Cerrito, Pinole, Richmond and San Pablo:

The Contra Costa County Election Department is looking for civic minded people willing to serve as pollworkers for the June 5, 2012 Presidential Primary Election. We are looking for Inspectors and Clerks in the following cities: El Cerrito, Pinole, Richmond and San Pablo, Bilingual (English/Spanish) workers are also needed. You must be a registered voter in California to qualify for a poll worker position.

No prior experience is necessary- we offer online training. Inspectors receive a $100 stipend and Clerks receive an $80 stipend for Election Day. Other stipends ranging from $5 to $20 are also paid for various duties.

We have a poll worker program for High School students called “Youth With A Vision”, in which students at least 16 years of age with a 2.5 GPA can serve as poll workers, receive a stipend and fulfill community service requirements.

The June 5 ballot consists of the primary election in the races for President, Congress and the state legislature. It also contains Measure K, a parcel tax for West Contra Costa County schools, and two state propositions: Prop 28, Limits on Legislators' Terms in Office, and Prop 29, Additional Tax on Cigarettes for Cancer Research.
