Preschool Poll Elicits Helpful Reader Feedback

Our poll on preschools in El Cerrito and Kensington closed Friday, with the , 's preschool and 's preschool garnering the most "votes" respectively, while several others also received strong endorsements.

Unlike our "Best Sandwich" poll a week earlier, the preschool poll was not intended as a contest but as a way for readers to share their experiences and recommendations. We recognize that it was not a scientific poll. And we are aware that different schools have different strengths and approaches, while different children have different needs and responses to a given environment. What works well for one child may not work well for another.

We'd like to thank all those who participated, and we hope that the votes, the reader comments on the article and the resultings reviews posted on some preschool listings in our directory helped increase public awareness and appreciation of the variety of preschool options in our area.
