Winner of "Best Sandwich" Poll

The results are in and it's obvious that there were two stand-out favorites for best sandwich place in this week's Best of Patch poll. At one point, the and Well Grounded were virtually tied in the votes cast.

, inadvertently omitted from the ballot, also received considerable support as a write-in candidate.

But when the final votes were tallied at 9 a.m. this morning, and the comments and reviews weighed, it appeared that one place clearly won the most support. The Junket received 49 percent of the 432 votes cast, surpassing the strong showing of Well Grounded, which received 36 percent. Ba Le received about a dozen write-in votes in the comments, which we give greater weight to since they require extra trouble, but they weren't enough in our view to outweigh the popular enthusiasm for The Junket and Well Grounded.

So congratulations to The Junket on being selected 2012 Best Sandwich.

In a review of The Junket, one user had this to say:  "The Junket has the absoutely BEST Chicken Salad Sandwiches in the world!!! The owners are so friendly they remember you and what you like to order."

And another wrote, "'Man cannot live by bread alone.' It's not just the sandwich - it's the ambiance. I drop in several times a week while on- the- hop. Some times I linger over a latte' and read my paper. Kudos to the Junket. I love you guys. Its my favorite place for lunch."
